Privacy notice

How we handle information you share on this pre-launch website. Draft — last updated 2 November 2026.

1. Who we are

wildlynear is a planned local marketplace connecting buyers with nearby growers. The data controller for information collected on this website is [To be confirmed: legal name of the operator (sole trader or registered company), company number if any, and registered or trading address].

To contact us about privacy, including any of your rights below, please use the contact form and choose “Privacy request”, “Unsubscribe” or “Delete my details”. [To be confirmed: a public postal address or privacy email address for people who cannot use the form; ICO registration number if registered]

2. What we collect

Interest registrations: email address; whether you are a buyer, grower or both; town or village; postcode area (for example “BS6”, not your full postcode); and your first name if you give it. Growers also tell us their grower type and may choose categories of what they grow.

Launch-email consent records: whether you opted in, the exact consent wording shown, its version and the time you agreed. We also record when you registered and how many times the form was submitted with your email.

Contact messages: your email address, your name if you give it, the topic you chose, your message and when you sent it.

Security records: to limit spam and abuse, we keep short records of form submissions containing a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and email address, rather than the readable values. Our hosting provider may also keep standard technical logs.

We do not use advertising cookies, social media trackers or session recording, and we do not sell your information. We use essential security cookies (including Cloudflare’s __cf_bm) and store your cookie choice for six months. Visitor statistics from our host use a 30-minute session-id cookie and only run if you accept analytics (lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw through Cookie settings in the footer). See our cookies page for details.

3. Required and optional information

For a registration, your email, buyer/grower choice, town or village and postcode area are required, and growers must give a grower type; without these we cannot plan where to launch. Your first name and growing categories are optional.

For the contact form, your email, topic and message are required so we can reply; your name is optional.

Launch emails are entirely optional. The box is unticked by default and you can register without ticking it.

4. Why we use it and our lawful bases

  • Launch planning — understanding demand from buyers and growers in each area, and getting in touch about your registration. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in planning and launching wildlynear.
  • Answering enquiries and requests — replying to contact messages and handling privacy, unsubscribe or deletion requests. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in responding to you and, for rights requests, our legal obligations under UK data protection law.
  • Security and spam prevention — protecting the forms against abuse and duplicate submissions. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in keeping the website secure.
  • Launch emails — sent only if you tick the optional box. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We do not send marketing to people who have not opted in.

5. Internal email notifications

When a new registration or contact message is saved, an internal email summarising it is sent to the authorised wildlynear operator, so it can be reviewed and answered. This happens whether or not you opted in to launch emails; it is not marketing. If you send a contact message, your email address is set as the reply address so we can respond to you directly.

6. Who processes your information for us

  • Lovable — builds and hosts this website and its backend. Hosted pages and form handling run on Cloudflare’s global network.
  • Supabase (via Lovable Cloud) — the database where registrations, contact messages, consent and security records are stored. [To be confirmed: database hosting region]
  • Resend — delivers the internal notification emails. [To be confirmed: Resend account set-up; not yet active]
  • Google Fonts — supplies the website’s fonts, so your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address when pages load.
  • Zoho Mail — hosts the wildlynear mailbox where notifications and replies are handled.

These providers act on our instructions. We share information with others only where the law requires it.

7. International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or may process data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK–US Data Bridge, as offered in each provider’s terms. [To be confirmed: the specific safeguard used by each provider and the database and mailbox regions]

8. How long we keep it

  • Registrations and consent records: until launch planning ends in your area, or until you ask us to delete them. Consent records may be kept for as long as needed to show when consent was given or withdrawn. [To be confirmed: maximum period, for example 12 months after launch in your area]
  • Contact messages and internal notifications: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or request. [To be confirmed: period, for example 12 months after the matter is closed]
  • Security records: only as long as needed for spam and abuse protection. [To be confirmed: period, for example 30 days]

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and in some cases to receive a copy in a portable format. You can object at any time to use based on our legitimate interests.

Withdrawing consent: you can stop launch emails at any time by using the contact form with the topic “Unsubscribe”, or via the unsubscribe link in any launch email. Submitting the registration form again without ticking the box does not withdraw an earlier consent.

Making a request: use the contact form. Requests are handled by a person, not automatically, and we may ask you to confirm you control the email address before changing or deleting anything. We aim to respond within one month.

Complaints: if you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to this notice

We will update this notice as wildlynear develops, including before the marketplace launches. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
